Transfers of all firearms will include a successful background check, conducted for the specific recipient of the firearm. No one can perform a background check or pick up a firearm for another individual. 

In the event that an intended recipient fails a background check, the applicable transfer fee will apply. Any funds paid toward the purchase of the firearm will be returned in the form of store credit (minus the transfer fee). 

Transfer fees apply to each firearm.

Firearms purchased from A&J Arms include the transfer fees as part of the purchase price. 

A&J Arms can facilitate legal person-to-person transfers of firearms. The firearm must be legally compliant for the recipient. A transfer fee of $50 applies, and must be followed by a successful background check.

The buyer must provide the contact information for A&J Arms to the seller, so that FFL information can be exchanged directly from dealer to dealer. 

The buyer must provide the tracking number and date of delivery so that the specific package can be identified. 

The buyer must ensure that the proper documentation for the purchase is provided within the packaging, which includes the FFL for the seller, and a bill of sale / receipt that identifies the buyer.

Items delivered to A&J Arms that are compliant with NYS regulations can be transferred to the buyer with a successful background check and transfer fee of $50.

Items delivered that are not compliant with NYS regulations will incur the following fees: $50 transfer in, shipping costs, and $50 transfer out.

Items picked up from a local location or an agency such as a police station shall incur the following fees: $75 pickup charge, $50 transfer in and $50 transfer out. Pickup charge from a non-local location to be assessed. 

Ammunition Transfer Fee

Ammunition transfer fee cost is $25 per case. A&J Arms offers a service to transfer ammunition shipped from out of state (e.g. internet sales), in compliance with NYS regulations. The buyer must provide the tracking number and date of delivery so that the specific package can be identified.

A&J Arms offers firearms storage service for individuals who may not be able to store them for themselves. A fee of $20 for each firearm per each complete month is assessed, and is payable in periods no greater than 6 months. 

For firearms purchased in-store, storage fees are incurred after 90 days. A fee of $20 for each firearm per each complete month is assessed, and is payable in periods no greater than 6 months.

For firearms shipped to A&J Arms (e.g. internet sales or transfer from out of state), storage fees are incurred after 30 days. A fee of $20 for each firearm per each complete month is assessed, and is payable in periods no greater than 6 months.

Without prior arrangements, firearms left unpaid for periods of greater than six months may be deemed abandoned.

Declaration of Abandoned items

Firearms stored by A&J Arms must be picked up within 30 days from the date that we receive them and they are delivered into our shop. After 30 days storage fee will be assessed in accordance with store policy on all firearms not picked up. Firearms that are not picked up within six months will be considered abandoned and sold to pay for storage and receiving fees.
